Lucas Glover was able to put up an amazing performance which set him apart from other golfers. He managed to pull off a spectacular finish in front of his family and friends as he went ahead to lift the trophy and take home the winner’s cut of $1,368,000. The journey of the champ was filled with much perseverance and grit as he took to the field with the support of his family.

The golfer was introduced to the game at the age of 3 by his grandfather whom he dearly missed on the day. He put a club in the young one’s hand which marked the start of an amazing journey. The day would have marked the 97th birthday of his grandad Dick Henley if he had been still alive.

In an Instagram post uploaded by the PGA Tour handle, the 43-year-old was seen embracing his family as they took part in the golfer’s special moment. After the embrace, all of them pointed upward as a tribute to his granddad. During the winner’s speech, the American golfer wished his grandfather a “Happy Birthday” and went on to talk about how he missed him. Moreover, as he remembered him, he went on to say, “There was a little rainbow behind the 15th tee after we teed off and I think that was him.”

The event saw many golfers bring in their families to witness the match. Justin Thomas was accompanied by his grandma who was wearing a visor cap and a pink shirt. She was seen encouraging the pro golfer all the way to the last hole as a true supporter should.
