Will Scottie Scheffler's game hold up in the heavy rain, or will he falter under pressure?

24 exceptional talents from the golf world will be coming together at the Royal Montreal Golf Club for the 14th Presidents Cup. The event started with practice rounds on Monday, September 23rd, but the main event will commence on September 26th. Team USA has eight golfers who are ranked in the top 15 of the OWGR, including Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, and Xander Schauffele. On the other hand, the International Team has some of the best golfers from around the globe, like Min Woo Lee, Tom Kim, Mackenzie Hughes, Hideki Matsuyama, Jason Day, and others.

The game would surely be intense, as both teams have a competitive bunch of players sharpened to prove themselves. But the last time the International Team won was in 1998. Will the same curse follow them, or will the 2024 edition be a different story? Or, in a worst-case scenario, will Mother Nature spoil both their plans? Unfortunately, this might be the case. When you look at the weather forecast for the first round on Weather Network, it reports that the morning of the Thursday round will witness rain. And the percentage of precipitation is 100. So, there are no two ways about it.

The temperature would be low too, at 59°F in the morning. And even by the afternoon, there will be a 70% chance of showers, but the temperature will rise to 64°. The wind would be blowing from the southeast at 12 mph in the morning and in the afternoon from the west at 14 mph. The humidity will be at an all-time high of 100% and will only lower to 88% as the day progresses. Rain plus humidity and win will be a frustrating combo for not only the golfers but fans alike. So, if you are heading to spend your Thursday at Royal Montreal Golf Club, do not forget the rain gear and a sleeveless umbrella; that is the one allowed.

Until Thursday, the golfers and fans will have their fingers crossed as inclement weather has a history of ruining the PGA Tour events. Don’t forget the rain-shortened AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am or the Cognizant Classic, which was delayed until Monday due to severe weather. Hopefully, the rain will not be much of an issue for the on-course and the ones watching it on TV. Here is how you can watch the Presidents Cup live.
