While many people see it as an expense, they see it as an investment. Tiger Woods has his own jet that he uses to travel to different courses around the world.

Elon Musk, too, followed in his footsteps and bought the same jet that Tiger has. Twice. Great minds certainly do think alike.

Elon Musk adds another jet to his collection

Although Elon Musk claims to live frugally, he owns quite a few jets. He said, “I mean, the one exception is the plane, but if I don’t use the plane, then I have less hours to work.” And it seems like he has developed a certain liking for one model. In the past two years alone, the world’s richest man has bought two private jets, both Gulfstream G550s.

Tiger also owns the same jet that Musk has bought. The Gulfstream G550 is powered by two Rolls-Royce BF710-C4-11 engines. The jet can travel 7,767 miles without a fuel break. The jet can reach a top speed of Mach 0.885 (680 mph). Gulfstream no longer manufactures G550s, despite the jet being one of their most successful models.

The plane is an absolute beast, and a new one costs close to $62 million. One can get their hands on a pre-owned one for $14 million. Just buying the jet is not enough; it takes about $4.2 million to operate the jet for about 300 hours a year.

Tiger Woods owns many luxuries

The golfing legend has a net worth of $1.1 billion, according to Forbes. So, it comes as no surprise that he owns many lavish things. Woods got a hold of his G550 much before Elon did and paid $63 million for it. The 15-time major winner also tweaked the inside of the jet to his liking.

The jet seats about 18 passengers and is equipped with complete internet connectivity and satellite communications. The legend’s jet also has a bedroom, a walk-in closet, multiple bathrooms, and an elite dining area. Woods certainly likes to fly in style. Besides his jet, 82-time PGA Tour winner Victor Martinez also has an extravagant $20 million yacht.
