The 12th LPGA Tour season of pro Lexi Thompson is not going as expected. After being in a slump that appeared short-term, she is now at risk of losing it all. But as always, some positives arise in these situations. And the golfer’s recent update on social media stands testament to it.

A thrilling LPGA season is underway at Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Oregon. And while all the players are vying for the $1.5 million title, Thompson is barely hanging on by a thread. Despite that, she’s focusing on the silver lining, and her recent “creeping” post proved exactly that!

The LPGA star has been struggling with her form of late. Her consistent performance is one of slumps and missed cuts. And this might cost her the LPGA card for next year. At the Portland Classic in round 2, Thompson missed the cut by a stroke. And shot a 72-69. As a result, Lexi Thompson is out of the race to the CME Globe because she stands outside the top 150.

However, her past accolades and gameplay have earned her loyal followers and fans. A recent Instagram story by the player is proof. She took to her Instagram and reposted a fan’s story. The picture was taken at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. While Lexi was chatting with a fellow player, three young girls stood in the back. She was perhaps looking at the LPGA player.

The fan wrote in the story, “When the girls are creeping on @lexi.” Thompson reshared the story with hearts on it. She was possibly reassured that her fan base was loyal enough to stand with her amid the slump.

Just days ago, Thompson even shared another update on Instagram about her focusing on self-care. It certainly seems like the LPGA star has a knack for showing a positive attitude amid tense scenarios. However, whether it will all work out well for her remains to be seen.

In nine starts this season, Thompson has missed seven cuts. Moreover, she’s failed to finish below the top 30. However, that is perhaps not even her biggest worry at the moment. The LPGA star’s current performance has left the Solheim Cup captain for Team U.S., Stacy Lewis, biting her nails in worry too!

What did Stacy Lewis have to say about Thompson?

Thompson stands 157th in her race to the CME Globe, the LPGA’s season-long points competition. Due to this, she might lose out on her playing privileges completely for the year 2024, and this, of course, is a cause for worry, not just for the 28-year-old but all around her as well, including Lewis, who recently picked the LPGA star to play on the US team for the Solheim Cup this year.

Per Golf.com, Stacy Lewis expressed some concerns about Lexi Thompson’s game. But she also made it known that if one sees Thompson off the course, they will not be able to tell that something of this sort is happening. Lewis also added on the conference call with reporters that Lexi Thompson is in no mood to quit. And as per the captain, that is the most important thing on the golf course. Especially during the Solheim Cup.
