After the action-packed and historic weekend at the PGA Tour, golf fans will now expectedly turn their heads towards the DP World Tour. The 2024 Porsche Singapore Classic at the Laguna National Golf Resort is scheduled for March 21–24. What makes the third event of Asian Swing intriguing is the return of World Number 27, Matthieu Pavon. The golfer is making his comeback to the DP World Tour following his remarkable achievement on the PGA Tour.

Pavon secured a one-shot victory in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in January. It was his 11th start overall and the third of his rookie season on the PGA Tour. But the main question remains: Will the fans get a chance to witness the Frenchman’s great return without any hindrance? It totally depends on the weather in Singapore! The weather lately has played a pivotal role in the cancellation and suspension of certain PGA Tour events, such as the WM Phoenix Open, AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-AM, Puerto Rico Open, and others. Will the PGA Tour’s off-late weather ‘curse’ make its way to the DP World Tour?

In addition to temperature fluctuations, humidity levels also emerge as a significant factor for Thursday, as they range from 52% to 83%, which could lead to slight difficulty for the pros while teeing off. The wind doesn’t show much variation in speed as it ranges from 13 km/h to 18 km/h, which is high as it might affect the trajectory of golf balls.

A look at the Friday’s forecast shows that the wind speed is expected to decrease. The highest wind speed appears to be 14 km/h, which is similar to the initial wind speed for the first round. However, the humidity could still pose a challenge for Round 2. Humidity may continue to exhibit significant fluctuations, ranging from 48% to 82%. Moreover, the temperature is anticipated to remain within the comfort range, ranging from 26 degrees to 33 degrees Celsius. Will the weather be pleasant enough after the golfers make the cut?
