The 31-year-old was conducting a Q&A session on her Instagram when a fan asked her an interesting query. “What would you say to a middle school PE class of girls?” asked the follower, after which she shared a story replying to the question on her social media handle.
“I would stress the importance of playing golf. You might ask why. And it’s quite natural to be doubtful of the same. But take Spiranac’s life itself as an example. The female athlete had played the sport professionally and had also competed in the Cactus Tour. Moreover, she was also invited to participate in the Dubai Ladies European Tour in 2015 and 2016.
But soon after, in 2016, she said goodbye to her professional career owing to mental health issues. Her issues stem from wanting to become the best at the game. Instead, Paige Spiranac turned to social media, which she coupled with the sport of golf. Voila! The golfer-cum-model now boasts a following of 4 million on Instagram alone. And it’s through this platform of social media that the American influencer has dished out many of her opinions attacking the traditionalist values of the sport.
