The Australian golfer, Lucas Herbert entered the Open Championship with the hope to win his first major and lift the Claret Jug. Previously, in the Open Championship, Herbert finished at T15 last year. This year also he had been stealing the show from the start and had three birdies on the front nine. However, the newly built 17th hole, also called the ‘little eye’ suddenly changed the course of the game and added a heavy +3 to his score.

The footage of this shot by Herbert has been posted on Twitter with the caption “Career Over”. And to this, two fans commented “Poor fella”, and “Shockingly left from 126 to be fair!” showing their sympathy for Herbert.

Another reacted in a way as if scorning Herbert’s performance “Tennis your sport is it?”.

And alongside this, another two also commented thought that would be what I would do lol”, and “Do you think Cowan is handing out short game lesson leaflets on the walk down to 18!!”

Thus, this 17th hole can be a career changer for some and similarly, this happened to the Aussie as well. The downward trajectory of his game was quite unexpected but this course proved that nothing is impossible in Liverpool Golf Course.
