With nearly a month left for the 2022 PNC Championship, the much-anticipated father-son event has got the fans on the edge of their seats. Many players along with their sons have committed to the upcoming tournament, including the defending champions John Daly and John Daly II, who have already sent a warning to all their opponents. But will the Daly family successfully defend their title? Let’s find out.



The 2022 PNC Championship will take place at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grand Lakes. The event will commence on December 15 and end on December 18. With nearly a month and a week left for the tournament, the first wave of Champions have committed to the event.

John Daly’s son sends a warning to their opponents

The PNC Championship announced the list of golfers that will step foot on the course, which includes big names such as Jordan Spieth, Bernhard Langer, and John Daly. Following the post, Daly’s son couldn’t contain his excitement and sent a warning.


Daly’s son John Daly II, reposted the picture of his father with the caption, ‘Let’s run it back pops’. Being the defending champions, Daly II’s high spirits make sense. Team Daly is considered the favorite to win the upcoming event.

However, as more teams are yet to be announced in the forthcoming weeks, the challenge for the Daly family is only about to increase. With so much at stake, does John Daly and his son have what it takes to successfully defend their title?

Can John Daly and his son successfully retain their title?

The Arizonian father-son duo has always been a great team when it comes to golf. Two years ago, they first competed together, taking part in the 2020 PNC Championship. Months leading to that event, Daly publicly announced he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Nonetheless, he underwent surgery earlier than he was supposed to, just to play at PNC Championship next to his son.

Daly and his son finished the 2020 event in 8th position, despite all the challenges off the course. A year later, Daly II turned 18 years and looked bigger and better at the sport. They were good enough for everybody in Orlando, as Team Daly scored 27-under 117, setting a new event record. The score was good enough to secure their first win together.

Now, as more teams are announced for the event, no father-son duo looks more alluring than the Daly family. Their rise has been visible on paper as well as on the course. Moreover, John Daly II has been pursuing a golf career of his own, as he currently competes for the Arkansas Razorbacks College team.

As far as, Big John is concerned, the fans are well-rehearsed with the greatness of the 2-time Major winner. The 56-year-old has achieved great feats in his professional career. But playing and winning events along with his son might still top his list of accolades. With Daly II sending a warning to their opponents, the fans are in for a treat.
