Brooks Koepka, a formidable force in the world of golf, finds himself facing a challenging situation at the ongoing US Open at the Los Angeles Country Club (LACC), North Course. As he sits at even-par after two rounds, Koepka openly expresses his dissatisfaction with the course. He candidly says “it’s not my favourite” when asked about the LACC.

Hours before Koepka made the statement a PGA tour professional James Hahn took to Twitter to vent his anger and frustration with the USGA. The PGA Pro expressed his keen interest in seeing a return to over-par winning scores with the course playing longer. “Please stop spending money on the distance debate and please direct all funds to buying VHS film of past US Open courses on how to get an over par winning score. Sincerely, the entire golf community,” he wrote on Twitter.

Koepka makes no bones about what he thinks in regard to the course: “I’m not a huge fan of this place. I’m not a huge fan of blind tee shots, and then I think there’s just some spots that no matter what you hit, the ball just ends up in the same spot,” he said.

I think it would be more fun to play just a regular round than it would be a US Open. There was, what, two 8s (62) yesterday? That doesn’t happen,” he added.

And there are buyers of what he says.

Koepka goes on to say: “I won majors on golf courses that I haven’t really liked too much. But this one, I don’t know – it’s not my favourite.”
