TGL has officially launched! The much-anticipated first match of Tiger Woods & Rory McIlroy’s dream project was concluded a few hours ago. Most of the fans were left in awe as they witnessed their favorite golfers dominate the arena at the SoFi Center. While the match itself was a bit one-sided, it was great watching the pros enjoy themselves in the indoor simulation golf environment. In the end, The Bay Golf Club beat New York GC by 9-2 to win the match and gain vital points on the leaderboard.

Apart from the match, there were a few other exciting moments in the arena that were much loved by the fans. The arrival of Tiger Woods & Rory McIlroy was one of them. As the co-owners joined the arena, they were interviewed by the host for a brief moment. The GOAT was also challenged to hit the camera above the simulator with a golf ball, which he did accurately with the fans cheering him. In the end, they took their seats in the stands in anticipation of the first match.

However, during the matchup between both the TGL teams, there was an unexpected interview with an individual who was not connected to the golf community. The person in question is a famous music producer, DJ Khaled, who has been involved with the league for some time now. The interview occurred during an intense moment when Ludvig Aberg was putting a shot on the green.

As shared by @NUCLRGOLF on their X account, the video was captioned, “DJ Khaled interview 😵😵‍💫” as the host was seen asking Khaled about his experience of playing in the arena a few weeks ago. He mentioned how he was good at driving the ball, but couldn’t putt it in the end. However, the DJ also stated that he was “inspired by Tiger Woods” when he attempted to putt the ball. Sharing his wisdom with the golf community after his experience on the course, DJ Khaled also said, “If you’ve got confidence, you’re unstoppable,” indicating that you only need confidence to succeed in the sport.

Interestingly, @garrett_TFE provides another example of the producer’s unwelcome appearance in the SoFi Center arena. They said, “You’re not going to believe this, but DJ Khaled came back during Ludvig’s SportsCenter interview,” while also sharing an image of the musician interrupting Ludvig Aberg’s interview.

The interview was not well received by the fans, as they complained about how they would prefer to watch the match instead. Let’s see what they had to say.

Fans were not pleased about not getting to watch the match and having to listen to DJ Khaled talk instead. @BlueStreakNGC stated, “Please go away!!! Khaled is the Taylor Swift of golf. 🤦‍♂️,” suggesting that DJ Khaled is also trying to act like he is bigger than golf, just like how Taylor Swift behaves when she’s at NFL stadiums, supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Moving on, @TheMaleCitizen said, “This guy never shuts up,” seemingly frustrated that the musician is getting so much screen time in a golf event. @KTuckman77 mentioned how DJ Khaled’s appearance was the “Worst part of the debut so far,” for TGL, as the inaugural event was a success until the focus shifted to Khaled.

@JohnnySandbag wanted to know, “Does he know everyone is laughing at him?” suggesting that Khaled is making a fool out of himself by trying to share his expertise in a golf event. @TronCarterNLU said, “Marty Smith interviewing DJ Khaled while golf shots are being hit is decidedly NOT it,” hinting that they don’t appreciate getting diverted from the intense match ongoing in the arena just to listen to DJ Khaled talk. It’s evident that they didn’t like Khaled getting unnecessarily involved in the match between The Bay Golf Club & New York Golf Club.
