The Solheim Cup, which is the biennial golf tournament for professional women golfers, will be held this month from September 22 to September 24 at Finca Cortesin in Casares, a small town in Andalucia, Spain. The course is regarded as one of Spain’s best golf courses by the renowned Golf Digest magazine. Team Europe and Team United States will be locking horns against each other.
The event is played over three days, with eight foursomes and eight four-balls played on days 1 and 2, and 12 singles on the final day. The team that wins each match is given one point. In the case of a tie, both teams are given half a point. When all the matches are held, the team with the most points wins. The US has won the cup 10 times and Europe a total of 7. The last time the event was won by Team Europe was in 2021 in Toledo, Ohio.
The chance to witness the adrenaline-pumping match that comes once every two years is finally here.
