UNC ended up beating Duke at home with a 94-81 score. Armando Bacot finished with 23 points, while UNC somehow built upon the enthusiasm. The crowd at Duke remained unforgivable, but not enough to let UNC push through and win. Having said that, Duke was also sending off their coach Mike Krzyzewski, giving him the standing ovation he deserved.

Of course, Coach K’s farewell remains incredibly special. The legend has led Duke to five NCAA Division one championships, and will forever be special to the place. UNC winning was a big upset for Duke, especially as it hampered Coach K’s departure.
