Sorenstam made an appearance in the press conference that was organized for the Invited Celebrity Classic, a PGA event wherein she was asked about her opinion about the ongoing slow play and how can amateurs help themselves while playing a shot. “I hate slow play. I think I’m a believer in ready golf.” said the 52-year-old. She did not hesitate to express her strong opinion about how she felt about the controversy. She also suggested that there are many things that a golfer can do while another golfer is hitting their shot.
She also expressed that everyone should have a pre-routine, and if everyone will have one, things will go pretty fast. Citing her own example, she said, “I mean, I have a pre-shot routine so I do my routine and it’s 24 seconds.” Sorenstam commented that every golfer should “just be ready when it’s your turn and hit when you’re ready.”
She said that people sometimes get mad when a golfer is putting for 8 or 9, and in this case, a golfer should “pick it up and move on.” She knows that “it’s different on the PGA Tour” but at home, it is as simple as two golfers playing with each other.

What stirred the discussion of slow play in the golf world?
