LIV Golf’s 2023 season was a good one, but it had its share of ups and downs. One news story that captured a lot of limelight during the season was Smash GC’s rift that happened between Brooks Koepka and Matthew Wolff. As a result of the quarrel between the two, the dual trade happened in the Saudi-funded league. As the season progressed, there were a few other internal changes in the LIV teams, with the most recent one being in Phil Mickelson‘s team.
With the 2024 season above the head, all the LIV teams are preparing for it. With expectations to do better in the upcoming season, Lefty has announced the latest addition to this LIV team, HyFlyers GC.

On Monday, the HyFlyers GC team welcomed its new member, Andy Oglеtree, to its roster. The 25-year-old who won the 2019 U.S. Amateur earned his spot in a roster vacancy created by the relegation of James Piot.
Phil Mickelson, the captain of the HyFlyers GC, is thrilled to have Ogletree on his team, which also includes Brendan Steele and Cameron Tringale. Praising the newest addition, Lefty said, “Andy is one of the most impressive young players in the game.” Talking about the contributions that the young golfer would make to his team, Mickelson mentioned, “He makes the HyFlyers a contender next year.”
The 6x major champion seemed very joyful with his new teammate and said that Ogletree gels along really well with everyone on the team; “just as importantly, Andy fits in perfectly with everyone on the team.”

I was seeing how every tournament works and the team dynamic and the support structure they put in place.” The young golfer was left highly impressed with Phil Mickelson and his style of work. He also played in three LIV golf tournaments in 2023 as a reserve. Even though he did not play a lot, he was in the open zone of the points list, which means he could join any team that had an empty spot without waiting for the draft. And after considering a few teams, he joined the HyFlyers GC.
