After months of back and forth, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau finally settled their beef on the golf course. To be honest, ‘The Match’ wasn’t as entertaining as people expected it to be, considering all the hype that was thrown around. With that being said, Phil Mickelson also made his commentary debut by picking up the mic for Brooks vs Bryson and did a decent job out of it.

Phil Mickelson is a genius when it comes to golf and he’s often proved it on the course. However, fans saw a different version of him at the Wynn Golf Club as Phil wasn’t holding a club in his hand, but a mic.

Prior to the showdown, Bleacher Report had organized a hot-seat type program involving Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, and Phil Mickelson. All sorts of questions were thrown, and at one point, DeChambeau was trying to explain just how hard it is to get into Phil’s mind and mess with him.

The conversation was light – everyone knows Phil has the ability to shut down any outside noise. Suddenly the topic shifted toward Mickelson’s coffee and everyone claimed that the chemicals along with the caffeine are helping Phil stay like a rock at all times.

Of course, it was a witty take by the panel, but Phil Mickelson fired back in prime fashion. With DeChambeau and Koepka seated to his left, he said, “I’m the only one here that has won a major this year.”

It was a mic drop moment for Phil who then took a sip of his coffee with a cheeky grin. Well, Phil was just spitting facts and you just got to agree with the man!

The Match between Brooks and Bryson began on a positive note where both players started off with pars. However, Koepka won the second with a birdie and picked up the momentum from there. He never lost it thereafter.

Koepka went on to win holes five and six and went 3up over DeChambeau. The latter struggled with his putting largely because of misreading the greens. Eventually, it proved to be costly and Bryson could not help but concede the match in the ninth hole after Koepa went 4up on him.
