Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods have always enjoyed a friendly rivalry. Both professionals are famous for smack talking and friend banters both on and off-the-course. Moreover, recently the six-time major championship narrated probably one of the funniest Tiger stories ever.

Phil Mickelson narrates another epic Tiger Woods story

A few years ago, Phil started a small series on his official Twitter account, namely “Phireside with Phil” in which the 45-time PGA Tour winner would narrate some of the incredible stories associated with his long and illustrious career. In one of the episodes, he narrated a funny Tiger and Tony Romo story. Let us take a trip down memory lane and relive the time when Tiger gave a deadly stare to Tony.

Phil narrated an incident that took place at the 2012 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. And the incident somewhere proves, Phil and Tigers’ banter is probably the best in any sports.

Phil said, “So starting the final round, his partner Tony and my partner skip McGee. We all are gonna play together. But the night before the final round, we go to a dinner.”

“Tony Romo’s there and Jim seats us next to each other and we had a great time.”

“So the next morning, Tony knows that this is going to bother Tiger that we had dinner together so he tells his caddy don’t mention that. Don’t bring it up, don’t say a word. I also know that this is going to bother him.”

He added, “We all tee off on the first hole as we’re walking down. I stand back about 20 yards and Tiger and Tony off they go. And I yell Hey, Tony, Tony. That was such a great night last night man that was awesome. Tiger, do you remember the stair you gave them? Yeah, that’s it. That was the stair that Tony got so as Tiger looks at Tony like this, Tony looks at him and says there were a lot of people there last night.”

Well, looks like Tiger is really possessive about his playing partners. But, nonetheless, it is yet another epic Woods and Mickelson story.

2012 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am results

On the business end, Phil won the event in 2012. The Lefty won the 2012 Pebble Beach Pro-Am with an overall score of 17-under-par. As a result, won with a two-shot advantage. He carded a final round of 64, eight-under-par on his route to a dominating victory at Pebble Beach.
