When talking about the best golfers in the world, the first two names that come to mind are Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. The two have made numerous records on the field. And despite their never-ending competition and old rivalry, the two have always had great respect for each other. And there was a time when Mickelson expressed his gratitude towards Woods on Twitter.

Phil Mickelson thanked Tiger Woods on Twitter
Even after being rivals for the longest time, Woods and Mickelson have played some legendary matches together. And to express his love and respect for the 15-time major champion, Mickelson once wrote an open letter for him on Twitter.
“Dear Tiger. Thank you… ” Lefty wrote. “…for all that you’ve done for this great game of golf. No one has benefited more than me and I just wanted you to know I appreciate you and all you’ve done. That’s all. Thank you.” Fans were overwhelmed to see Mickelson saying such kind things about his old-time rival. He didn’t only admit benefiting from the golfer’s presence in the game. But also thanked him for what he had done for the sport.
Mickelson was not wrong about thanking Woods since it was him who kept setting a bar for other players. Other than making records on the field, Woods is also responsible for the growth of golf worldwide. And his fandom has benefited not only his career but also the PGA Tour and other golf associations.

Mickelson reacted to Woods’ LIV Golf statements
After numerous players decided to shift to LIV Golf, Woods expressed his disappointment about it in an interview. The golf legend spoke about how the players had “turned” their back against the PGA Tour. The PGA Tour is responsible for building each player to a level where they are today. But their decision to switch to the Saudi circuit turned out to bring huge damage to the former tour.
However, when Mickelson was asked to respond to Woods’ comments, he didn’t speak much about it. In fact, Lefty said that he had huge respect for Woods and his opinions. According to Mickelson, everyone has the right to have an opinion. And therefore, he had no problem with what Woods had said. At the same time, he had no regrets about his decision to join the Greg Norman-led league.
