Over the course of his entire career, Phil Mickelson’s name has been connected to Tiger Woods on several occasions. The two golf icons have been dominating since the 90s, winning multiple events throughout the years. Of course, their highs and lows need not have lined up, both having been active for decades together.
However, their careers have never stopped people from comparing or speaking of the two. Moreover, Mickelson and Woods did not even start off as friends. Rivals at first, their relationship has only now become amicable. More recent interactions involve fun trash talk over bitter remarks; an indication of mutual respect.
Having said that, this doesn’t give either an escape from questions about the other. After all, their current relations are a result of their past rivalry.

How did Phil Mickelson handle a Tiger Woods question?
While in Dubai, Mickelson was asked a specific question about Woods. As mentioned, the two are often questioned about each other as a result of their careers and the rivalry shared. This time, Mickelson was asked about Woods’ maiden Masters win in 1997, and whether he watched it later after he was cut that very event.

The 51-year-old icon, who is known for his charming personality, had the perfect witty response. “Thank you for bringing it about that I missed the cut that week,” he said. “I felt like that was a really critical part of the question.”
