Phil Mickelson talks about Tiger Woods
Lefty also said a few words about golf legend Tiger Woods after a reporter asked him about his reaction to Woods’ old remark. In an interview, Woods had expressed disappointment in the players who had left the PGA Tour to join the rival league by saying that Mickelson and other golfers had “turned on what has allowed them to get to this position.” In response to the question, Mickelson said, “I have a lot of respect for him.” I respect his opinion.”
Mickelson’s response seemed positive, in response to Woods’ condemnation. Woods has been a constant supporter of the PGA Tour. But Phil Mickelson leaving PGA Tour and joining Greg Norman’s LIV Golf, came as a shock to everyone. Lots of players followed suit…but that came at a cost. All the players who had joined the Saudi-backed Tour had to lose their PGA memberships after Jay Monahan issued a statement regarding the matter.
