Donald Trump is known to be an avid golfer himself. Moreover, the Trump Organisation owns several popular Golf Courses across the globe. Today, we look back to 2017, when one of Trump’s Golf Courses in Bali got redesigned by Phil Mickelson.

The Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster is all set to host the third tournament of LIV Golf. Phil Mickelson, who is a part of the Saudi-backed Golf Tour has great relations with the former president.

In 2017, Donald Trump decided to rename the Nirvana Golf Club in Bali as Trump International Golf Club. He took the assistance of the six-time Major Champion in redesigning the 18-hole course in Tabanan, Bali.

Mickelson redesigns Trump’s Golf Course

The golf course is located at the borders of the Indian Ocean. MNC Land, a popular developer in Indonesia, decided to reach out to Phil Mickelson’s team. Both groups worked together to design the course layout.

Mickelson was filled with joy after being reached out by the then US President. He said, “I’ve been fortunate to work on some great projects, but to contribute to what will be a six-star property is a rare and fabulous opportunity. The site is breathtaking and we will create a golf experience that presents both exciting options for players on the course and memories for a lifetime.”

Other designs by Mickelson include the Whisper Rock Golf Club in Arizona, as well as the Mickelson Shanghai International in China. The Mickelson National Golf Club in Calgary, Canada has also been successful.

The Greenbrier Course is also designed by the 52-year-old in addition to working as a design advisor. Apart from Mickelson’s success on the golf course, the Hall of Famer is also winning big time off the course.

Donald Trump praises Phil Mickelson

Donald Trump has shown his respect for lefty several times in the past. The most recent moment came when Mickelson officially announced his departure from the PGA Tour to join the lucrative LIV Golf series.
