Phil Mickelson said, “My favorite little tradition is that I take my kids to breakfast before school. It’s my time with them. Now that they have school and they have after school stuff and homework, at night I don’t really get a lot of time with them, especially time when they’re focused.” He also added how he always has dinner together with his family.
However, Lefty shared his special love for the breakfast with his children. He said, “But my deal is taking them for breakfast. Amy doesn’t usually come…she’s always welcome to but usually doesn’t and I’ll take one a day and if I don’t have enough days I’ll take them all, but I really love getting them one on one.”
Phil Mickelson ended by saying that he asks questions to his children in order to understand them better. Lefty said, “It’s my opportunity to ask them about what’s going on in their life, how things are going at school, what kinds of tests they have coming up this week, how their friends are doing–things like that. And it’s the time I cherish the most.”
After Mickelson’s jump to LIV Golf, he received massive public scrutiny for his decision. But it’s stories like these that made us fall in love with the 6-time Major Champion.
