As a professional golfer, Phil Mickelson is bound to travel a lot. While many invests in buying their own private jet, Lefty chose to sell his own. And he takes pride in making that decision.

“The greatest decision I made after owning a plane for twenty years was selling it and going with VistaJet,” Mickelson said. “It has reduced my stress levels exponentially.”

The private aviation company Vistajet began sponsoring Lefty in 2020. The golfer took his Instagram to share the happy news with his fans. Ever since then, he and his family have been flying with the Vistajets.

His $40 million luxury jet was nothing short of a mini home. The jet had two bathrooms, dining areas, and a cooking space in it. Although it provided the comfort and privacy the golfer’s family needed, Mickelson feels happier now that he has sold it.

Phil Mickelson pointed out the advantages of not owning a private jet

Mickelson explained that whenever he and his wife would go skiing, he would need to plan it months in advance so that he could book a hangar for his jet. “Otherwise, if the plane sits outside things freeze,” he added.

The golfer further explained that the private jet comes with additional expenses. However, with Vistajet, he doesn’t have to worry about anything at all. “We can tell them hours in advance, and they drop us off wherever we want to go,” Mickelson added. “And they deal with all the logistics.”
