Phil Mickelson seems to be going through a rough patch in his career. The past few weeks have been challenging for the professional. However, this is not the only time the 51-year-old went through a difficult time. Back in 2009, he faced a serious upheaval in his personal life. However, the six-time major championship came back strong.
Phil Mickelson delivers an emotional speech

Mickelson’s wife Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2009, the lefty suspended his operations on the PGA Tour. However, Phil gave her probably one of the best gifts of her life in 2010. Mickelson won his third green jacket and the special part of his win was, that Amy was there to see him. The couple shared a rather emotional moment after Phils’ heroic win at the Augusta National.

Moreover, the American professional delivered probably one of the most emotional speeches in golf and spoke some beautiful words for his wife, Amy.
Phil spoke about his wife after he won the Masters in 2010. He said, “To walk off the green and have her here to share this moment and share the joy of winning on 18 and to share this with my kids is something we’ll look back on the rest of our lives. This means so much to us, the jubilation. It’s very emotional. I don’t usually shed tears over wins.”
He added, “She’s an incredible wife and an incredible mother, and she has been an inspiration for me this past year in seeing what she went through. I’m so happy that she and our three kids are here.” Truly, the lefty spoke his heart out in the speech.

Mickelson’s 2010 Masters summary
Phil Mickelson won the 2010 Masters at Augusta National with a three-shot lead. He won the event with an overall score of 16-under-par. He carded a final round 0f 67, five-under-par. His final round included only one birdie on the front nine. As a result, going out in one-under-par, 35. He carded a bogey less, four-under-par back nine to win the event, which included four birdies.
