“There’s nothing holding me back physically from playing and competing against the best,” Mickelson had said, months before he won the PGA Championship last year.

Nicknamed Lefty, Mickelson further explained that if anything worries him the most while playing, it is the difficulty in being able to focus mentally. “Hyperfocus on each shot has become more challenging,” he added.

Although he feels he is getting weaker on the mental side, Lefty explained he has been working on it. “I’ve seen a lot of progress in my game, especially lately,” he added.

His fellow golfers congratulated him as they understood the hard work that goes behind winning a championship.
