Phil Mickelson unsatisfied with his position in LIV’s World Cup XI
LIV Golf recently released its lineup for the World Cup Starting XI for 2022. He was placed as a midfielder, a positions that generally involves tremendous endurance and stamina. Covering both ends of the pitch isn’t easy. Hence, the post triggered fans to put forth their opinions for the first group of subs.
One Twitter user quickly noticed the position of the six-time major winner Phil Mickelson on the soccer pitch. The fan replied to LIV Golf’s post, talking about the same.
They tweeted, “I think Phil Mickelson will die if he’s expected to run 12km with 100 sprints at cm.”

Mickelson replied to this with just one word – “Same.” This marked Mickelson’s return to Twitter after a while. It’s been long since Mickelson tweeted something. He has only been liking things on the platform. However, the sad acceptance broke his streak of silently observing.
His reply made rounds as it affirmed Mickelson was not satisfied with the positioning. This FIFA World Cup 2022 is picking up pace and most of the sporting world is following the mega-event.

LIV’s recent post made fans vote for the first group among the top 11 set to play the field. Only time will tell if Mickelson will “die” on the field or will actually kill the game with his sharp skills.
However, for now, Mickelson has agreed to his brutal troll’s scrutiny of his ability to walk through the long field.
Decoding another consequence of Mickelson joining LIV Golf
Mickelson’s shift to LIV Golf created many challenges for him. The rift between Mickelson and Bryan Zuriff, the creator of The Match, is one such consequence.
‘The Match’ began in 2018. Mickelson played a major role in its initiation and consequent seasons. However, his shift to LIV Golf brought an end to the same.
Zuriff said, “Phil was a phenomenal partner and he helped build this thing. But he has taken a different path. We’re in business with the PGA Tour.”
