Fashion and golf are two synonyms these days. With increasing brand presence at the course and collaboration with professional golfers. A new trend of vibrant and sometimes retro fashion is apparent. But with fashion, fans have their own perspective, and something similar happened with Jason Day.
However, the recent encounter with fans for his fashion revival isn’t the first time, as he was earlier also the topic of talk with his baggy pants and vest at the 2024 Masters. The fans on social media criticized his fashion during that time. However, this time, comments like “Visor gang 🏆” and “This is iconic, love this perfect framing of the visor” show that fans love the former no. 1’s outfit.
The recent post on Instagram by Jason Day showcased his new pick for sunny days. As fans might assume a cap, but it’s a visor. He shared his photos of wearing a visor paired with sunglasses along with a white polo t-shirt. The caption wrote, “Suns out, visors out 😎.” Earlier to this post, he shared a reel on Instagram of him practicing for The Sentry, having a similar visor with Motive and DeWalt written on it.

Though back in the day, Phil Mickelson introduced fashion during his early professional years. The revival attempt of Australian golfers is fairly successful, but it’s still not being used by most of the players. Caps replaced visors in popularity on the course after the 1980s peak, making visors less common. In the past, Phil Mickelson has been seen influencing other sports professionals with his fashion and interacting with them over social media.

Back in 2021, Josh Allen was also seen wearing a similar outfit as that of Phil Mickelson just before his game against the Miami Dolphins. The American football professional was seen wearing golf attire with khaki shorts, a striped t-shirt, shades, and a visor while entering the locker room. This is not usual as professionals are seen wearing suits pre-game. For the casual attire, Phil Mickelson also took his thoughts on X sharing the post and writing, “I find this new version of Josh Allen so seductive and yet I can’t quite put my finger on what exactly it is 🤔GoBills 😂😂.”

Allen has been playing golf professionally and was seen participating in various pro-am events, including the American Century Championship in Tahoe and Phoenix Open. Now this can be a sign towards getting back the old fashion trends. Earlier, professionals, including Bubba Watson, Keith Mitchell, Luke Donald, and many other LPGA stars, were seen wearing visors. With the interest of fans over the fashion and post of Jason Day, the day might not be far away when we will see everyone wearing visors instead of caps.
