The introduction of the PIP Fund by the PGA Tour has brought mixed reactions among the fans. Players like Phil Mickelson, Justin Thomas recently also gave their points of view. Meanwhile, the tour has persisted with it but has said it won’t publicly announce the winners. The PIP Fund is a $50 million bonus that PGA Tour will give to ten players who bring more popularity through social media and other things.
Moreover, from the 2021-22 season, the PGA Tour has increased the prize purse of many events. Few fans and experts feel this is unnecessary, especially the PIP Fund. Hence, recently on Twitter, there was an exchange between Phil and a golf instructor, with JT chipping in with his point.

Moreover, he asked them to increase the purse on Korn Ferry Tour. However, as Phil came across this tweet, he wrote, “If I may, the Tour makes more than that by using the top players’ media rights for their own YouTube and social channels and getting paid on views (players have no rights to use them). They also are holding estimated at $10-20 billion in digital moments that the top players created.”

But Peter wasn’t clear, so he replied, Phil, this is my point. He said they make $10 to $20 billion in revenue and only pay $40 to $50 million a year to 10 players as compensation. Furthermore, he concluded by saying players deserve proper compensation.
I agree with you and wasn’t disagreeing with your previous post. I was just putting out some additional (disappointing) facts as well.

The purses are going up actually. It’s something myself and many others vouch for on the PAC. I hear you, but there’s always a lot more that goes into it than I (and others) know. Not to mention, those “tour players” can and will be playing their way on tour

I hear you, but there’s always a lot more that goes into it than I (and others) know. Not to mention, those tour players can and will be playing their way on tour.”
