However, the Lefty recently has been in the midst of controversies regarding the Saudi Golf League. He even got grilled on Twitter for taking the side of Charley Hoffman with his recent comments about PGA Tour.

Phil Mickelson and two other professionals grilled on Twitter
The professional golfing world is in the midst of several controversies regarding the Saudi-backed golf league. In the recent past, the name Saudi Golf League has hovered over the PGA Tour as well as of the DP World Tour like a dark cloud.
It’s not just the tour, but tour professionals have also been sparking controversies, like Bryson DeChambeau, who might have been offered $135 million to become the face of the Saudi Golf League. However, DeChabeau denies the rumor. Phil has also made a few comments about the Saudi Golf League as well. However, both the professionals were roasted on Twitter.

Phil, as well as Bryson, were grilled on a tweet, which contained the following statement.
“If you guys want to go to Saudi Arabia just be big boys and say you want the money. But, holy hell, this shit ain’t it. Phil Mickelson, b_dechambeau (Charley isn’t on Twitter so please send my regards).”
Wow! that’s one gun of a statement. Phil, as well as Bryson, have openly voiced that they are with Hoffman on his comments about PGA Tour and are on his side.
Hoffman’s name is included because of his comments after suffering a stroke penalty.

Phil’s last appearance on PGA Tour
The lefty played his last event on the PGA Tour at the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open. Unfortunately, the American professional missed the cut at the event. He carded two consecutive rounds in the ’70s, 76 and 71. As a result, finishing the event with an overall score of three over par.
