As the golf world has moved on from the Solheim Cup to prepare for the upcoming Ryder Cup, a fresh conversation has kickstarted. The conversation revolves around the leader of the Ryder Cup points table who is the first member of the US team. Yes, we are talking about Scottie Scheffler.

The 27-year-old recently met with an interesting golf personality and a tweet about the combination has breathed life into the comment section. The reason why Scheffler met with the man in question is being speculated with quite the enthusiasm.

A recent tweet from a journalist had a picture of Scottie Scheffler with a golf coach. The coach was identified in the tweet as British Putting guru Phil Kenyon. Scottie Scheffler himself only shows his back to the photo.

In the picture, Scheffler is probably being captured by Kenyon on video as he is busy putting. The tweet also mentions the possibility of the American golfer getting lessons from the coach.

The tweet includes the statement, “Not sure I’ve seen that before.” This combination of Scheffler and Kenyon has not been previously spotted and that’s what the tweet is referring to. It is, of course, possible they had been training in private. But as of public knowledge, this is news.

This on its own may not even be that controversial, but there is more to this. Earlier this year, during the Master’s Championship, Scottie Scheffler was spotted having a heated exchange with his coach Randy Smith. Reportedly, he was unhappy with his putting game at the time as that aspect dragged his great ball-striking.

With the Ryder Cup right around the corner, this click and the speculation that comes with it make for a great topic of discussion. The American golfer seeking advice from a British coach right before the Ryder Cup sounds like the perfect recipe for a comment section conversation.

The comment section is not very optimistic about the matter

More comments were a bit skeptical and apprehensive of the alleged collaboration when compared to the ones that were optimistic about the situation. In fact, there was only one comment, as far as we noticed, that sounded a bit positive.

This commenter wanted to point out that it is not that big a deal. They argue that for a player to seek help with an area of the game he struggles with is normal.

One comment addressed the elephant in the room and asked about the judgment behind the timing and nature of this collaboration. There is some sense in this question for sure.

So dramatic this one. Went straight out to scream a warning to the young American. Touching!

As we said, the comment section looked quite gloomy and dark, and here is another piece of that skeptical energy.

A valid observation for a change. The commenter pointed out a recent technical decision that Scottie Scheffler made, and it added weight to the conversation.

Another skeptic blamed it on the timing. Y’all probably never heard of the saying: ‘Better late than never’.

This one took it a bit farther and compared himself to a coach. Well, if you do have some valid insights maybe you should DM Scheffler. He might be open to good advice.
