The Sentry Tournament of Champions begins on January 5 at the Kapalua Plantation Course. It is one of the most anticipated PGA Tour events since it is the first to be conducted a month after the last official golf tournament in America. Another reason why everyone looks forward to it is the incredible shots the players produced throughout the years of the event.
Like every year, the Tour officials shared the Top 10 shots from the Kapalua Course ahead of the 2022 Sentry TOC. The video on Twitter got good engagement from golf fans. However, it was not the way the Tour officials would have wanted.
PGA Tour didn’t include shots from Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson in the video

From the PGA Tour official’s perspective, the top 10 shots at the Sentry TOC over the years included the shots from the players that are still on the Tour. However, from the fans’ perspective, it lacked two special moments created at the Kapalua by the LIV Golf players Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson.
In their 3-minute 11 seconds Twitter video, the Tour included shots from Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Jordan Spieth, Keegan Bradley, and other Tour players. They didn’t add the DJ’s albatross by covering 430 yards with his yard on the par-4 12th hole in the 2018 edition of the Sentry event.
Moreover, they didn’t add Bubba Watson’s use of driver-driver-putter to make an eagle on the par 4 12th hole from the 2011 event in the video.
Interestingly the PGA Tour had added both shots on their YouTube channel separately as one of the best shots of all time. However, they failed to add it in the latest video, as both golfers have left them to play in their rival league, the LIV Golf Invitational Series.
Fans were upset after the Tour purposefully removed the LIV Golf players in its latest Twitter post
There is no denying that DJ and Watson made incredible shots at the Kapalua Plantation Course. In fact, even the tournament commentators called DJ’s shot “the drive of the year.”
Hence, most of the fans were upset after finding out the Tour didn’t add their drives on the 12th hole were not in the video.
No DJ, no Bubba? Wild.
The pettiness of the PGAT knows no bounds.
Will you also whitewash last year’s winner from the coverage too? 🤔🤦🏽♂️
Imagine the 49ers whitewashing Joe Montana from their history bc he finished his career in KC. 😂— J.A. (@NotDrJ) January 4, 2023
DJ’s drive to 3 inches from an albatross? 🧐

The @PGATOUR are getting this all wrong!
They are pretending their OWN history didn’t happen, it is pathetic and very childish.
DJs drive and Bubba’s driver off the deck should both be in this list.
Jay truly is a bitter little man! https://t.co/OqzC2VLj8V

Dustin Johnson has quite literally the most ridiculous shot we’ve ever seen here and it wasn’t included. Hilarious

It is beyond ridiculous that DJ's drive is not on the list (it should be #1). You can't pretend it never happened.

That polo on Tiger from 2000 might be the best golf shirt I’ve ever seen

We love Tiger and all but sheesh so many better shots available
— Mike Cyclops (@baldooci) January 4, 2023
Notably, netizens mostly asked about DJ shots. Meanwhile, there were one or two who talked about something else in the video, like mentioning Woods’ golf shirt from the 2000 edition of the event.

The PGA Tour has already banned the LIV Golf players from attending its events. Do you think it would have been appropriate for them to add them to the video?
