If there is one PGA Tour Pro whose career has been filled with controversies, it undoubtedly is Matt Kuchar. Well, the reasons go beyond listing. To begin with, in 2019, he came under the negative spotlight and created a stir on the greens. According to the PGA Tour rules, the players had to give a 10% cut from their payday to their caddies. However, at the Mayakoba that year, Kuchar finished at T14 and grabbed $1.3 million.

But, he did not pay the industry standard amount in full to his caddie David Ortiz.  Additionally, this year at the Wyndham Championship, Matt Kuchar was just left to finish off his final hole on Sunday. However, the conditions at the Sedgefield Country Club were not that great. It was dark, and that was why the 9X PGA Tour winner told the referee that he could not finish the hole. Even though Max Greyserman and Chad Ramey finished teeing off, he dragged the event to Monday. And well, he could not even finish in the top -10.

However, every time that Kuchar has come under criticism, he has made sure that he apologized to his fans. While most of the time they chose not to forgive him, as it turns out, not all pros are against him. Bryson DeChambeau launched the season finale of his YouTube Break 50 series with NFL legend Tom Brady. As both of them made their swings, they spoke about The Scientist’s golf journey and some of the professionals who have left an impact on him.

Well, as it turns out Bryson DeChambeau only had praise for Matt Kuchar. Back in 2017, he had a putting average of 1.758, which ranked him below the top 50 list, and his putts per round were only 29.18 on average.  However, he currently has a putting average of 1.57 and is ranked 11th on the list. Thanking Kuchar for that, he said, “I saw Matt Kuchar do it one time, yeah it was arm lock and I was like let me try that and I tried it and it changed my game forever so I have Matt Kuchar to thank for that”.
