Kultida Woods’s passing was a huge loss to the golf world. She had always been at the center of the GOAT’s career, molding him throughout the years. Even in his eulogy, Woods had mentioned how she was his “biggest fan” and “greatest supporter”. The legend acknowledges that he wouldn’t have had such a successful career if it wasn’t for her.
Being as iconic as her son in the golf world, the PGA Tour had to show their tribute to Tida Woods. And to honor her passing, the 2025 Genesis Invitational featured a White Flag on the 7th hole at Torrey Pines. As shared by TWLEGION, “🚨🏳️⛳️ #NEW: The 7th hole at Torrey Pines will feature a white pin flag this week to honor Tiger’s mother Tida. The color white is significant in Buddhist culture and pays tribute to her.” Kultida Woods was a Buddhist devotee from Thailand.
Now, the PGA Tour has taken another step to pay respects to the life of Kultida Woods. NUCLR GOLF shared a tweet a few minutes later with the caption, “🚨🧷🧢 #LOOK — Players are wearing red pins on their hats at Torrey Pines in honor of Tiger Woods’ mother, Tida who passed away. Woods will be at the course for today’s final round. (📸:@Minwoo27Lee) @TWlegion @trackingminwoo”. Yes, the PGA Tour has provided its players with red pins to wear on their hats. It was originally shared by Min Woo Lee on his Instagram stories.

The pins have the sign of love in the Thai language printed on them along with “For Tida” written below it. The TGR Live confirmed the same with their own tweet that read, “In honor of Tida, this special pin features the Thai symbol for love—a tribute to the woman whose unwavering belief shaped a champion. Tida told Tiger that red was his power color, a belief that became the foundation of his signature Sunday look.”

A fan also believed “This is awesome👏👏👏”, commending the PGA Tour for their efforts. This comes as a surprise considering they have getting a lot of heat recently due to various issues. However, someone questioned Jay Monahan & Co.’s intent behind this as they said, “Do they do this for all the players parents when they die? Serious question.” Could it be the Tiger Woods effect that is making the PGA Tour do this? We will never know.
