Did San Diego's charm play a bigger role in Xander Schauffele's love life or his golf career?

Right place, right time, they say. And Xander Schauffele would agree, and for all the right reasons. After all, some places are truly special; for the Schauffeles, it is undoubtedly San Diego. In the love story of Xander Schauffele and his beautiful and talented wife, Maya Lowe, San Diego has played an integral role. This city on the Pacific coast of California is where Schauffele was born, where he met his beloved wife in 2014, and where he got engaged to her. Talk about lucky charms.

Schaufelle proposed to Maya in Maui, Hawaii, in 2019. Seven years after meeting each other at San Diego University, they started their journey as a married couple in their Las Vegas home. Shortly after their nuptials, Schauffele announced, “It’s been a long time coming. We’ve been together for quite some time and decided to make it public. We’re very happy.”

Golf keeps Xander Schauffele busy. He likes to prioritize his career, but his wife is equally important to him too, and he is very grateful to have her in his life. In 2021, he spoke to Golf.com and said, “I never thought I could play golf at a high level and care about someone else besides myself. But it’s pretty special to care for someone else that way and to have that someone care for you.”

The couple has two dogs together, named Momo and Chewie. While the couple has no children yet, Lowe seems to be enjoying her auntie era for now. The couple also frequently travels with one another around the world and shares glimpses of their adventures with their followers. Their most preferred destination to travel together is somewhere beachy, as the ocean is their happy place. The couple has also traveled to Japan together to meet their friends and family.

The golfer’s wife has supported him through thick and thin. Before this year, he did not have any majors, and now, in just three months, he has two. When the PGA Tour pro won the PGA Championship, his beloved wife posted on Instagram, “It all felt like a dream. 🏆So proud of @xanderschauffele 👏🏼. We laughed, we cried, and we most certainly drank!🍾.”

Maya was very emotional after her husband’s maiden major glory. She said that this win meant everything to him, and she had seen the hard work he had put in to get where he was. Speaking highly of his wife after the PGA Championship win, the golfer said to People, “My wife keeps me grounded, so I know she was emotional just because she knows how much this means to me, and she’s been so supportive my entire career, and it’s really cool for me to share it with her.”
