With $42 million in career earnings, is Tony Finau the most underrated golfer on the PGA Tour?

Hard work always pays off! Tony Finau would know this better than most on the circuit. The golfer has raked in six PGA Tour victories, not to mention 64 top-10 finishes over 259 starts. However, through all these finishes and triumphs, the title of champ and the trophy aren’t the only things he has received. Cue the cuts from the prize money he was awarded at these events. This naturally arouses curiosity in his fans as to the actual net worth of the 34-year-old and his family.

The athlete is currently placed at T29 in the Official Career Earnings list with a whopping $42,411,360 that he was able to rake in after turning professional in 2007. Consequently, this has increased his value as a golfer. Thus, the 6-time PGA Tour champ in 2024 boasts a net worth of around $50 million, as per Golfweek.

The golfer’s biggest paycheck came at the 2021 FedEx Cup playoff at the Northern Trust with a humongous $1.72 million. Moreover, by carding as many as 40 top-10 finishes over the five years when he experienced a drought (from 2017 to 2021), he was able to ensure an income of millions of dollars.

Finau’s most successful year, meanwhile, came during the 2021–22 season. The professional had, back then, earned as much as $6.1 million owing to the seven top-10 finishes he managed to dish out, including the three victories at the 3M Open, the Rocket Mortgage Classic, and the Cadence Bank Houston Open. Interestingly, the athlete’s success on the course has also pushed him to help others off the course.

Tony Finau & his family’s philanthropic side

The athlete and his family have a charitable organization to his name, known as the Tony Finau Foundation. Its mission is to “empower and inspire youth and their families to discover, develop, and achieve the best of their gifts and talents through the game of golf, educational funding, and core family values.”

Just like how the golfer puts immense importance on his family, which includes his wife Alayna and five children, the foundation also boasts certain core values. The TFF, on their website, has stated how they would always put their core values into action by celebrating ‘communities’ and giving various ‘families’ what they need through ‘service’ and ’empowerment’. And this wouldn’t have been possible if not for the multi-year sponsorship deal with Aptive Environmental.

Finau’s partnership with Aptive Environmental

The golfer had decided to partner up with Aptive Environmental in March 2021, allowing him to use the company’s logo on his new golf bag. What’s more, the new partnership also helped him receive support from the pest control company to run the Tony Finau Foundation. “My family and I have had the benefit of witnessing this firsthand as a customer of Aptive’s for a number of years now,” divulged the PGA Tour Pro before signing with the same.

Finau also expressed how honored he was to enter into a deal with Aptive. “It is an honor for me to carry their name on my bag as the newest member of Team Finau,” conveyed the Utah native. But then, what about the company? Well, even they were extremely exhilarated to join hands with the golfer.

Vess Pearson, Aptive Environmental CEO, even expressed the same in a statement that he released, “He represents the same values that we strive to live at Aptive. As an avid golfer, I’ve been following Tony since his early days playing in Utah. Just like Tony is climbing the ranks in the golf scene, Aptive is working to disrupt a 100-year-old industry. We’re dedicated to a fresh approach to pest control that’s rooted in exceptional experiences for our customers and their families.”

Aside from the multi-year contract with Aptive Environmental, the 34-year-old also boasts long-standing sponsorship deals with the likes of Nike, Ping, and Qualtrics. Although the financial details of the partnerships haven’t been made public yet, the deal with Ping requires him to use their staff bag while playing at least 11 of their golf clubs during the various events.

His fans would surely be proud of the golfer, especially after witnessing the athlete’s rise in the sport of golf since turning pro in 2007. They would also be hoping for Tony Finau to rise through the ranks of the golfing world so that he and his family can do more good to the community through the foundation!
