Zach Johnson and his six picks have been the hot topic in the golf world, drawing out varied opinions. Where some of the enthusiasts appear to fully support Johnson’s choices, others haven’t shied away from mentioning their disagreement with the same. Falling under the latter category, a recent podcast took to the Instagram platform to publicly criticize the US Ryder Cup final choices.

Highlighting the names of Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Sam Burns, Rickie Fowler, and Jordan Spieth, the four hosts appeared to take strong jabs at the professional golfers. However, while they seemed to be in their element, denouncing Johnson’s decision, fans evidently seemed to side with the US captain.

In a recent podcast of Country Club Adjacent, the hosts, Aristotle Georgeson (aka Blake Webber), Jake Adams, Griff Pippin, and Mark Smalls, grabbed the opportunity to comment on America’s representation at the upcoming Ryder Cup. And their insights are something one has to hear!

Without many filters, the podcast starts with direct criticism of Johnson’s picks, calling him a “c*k s**g p*e of s*t“. After stating all the choices of the American captain, the guys got right back to work on roasting the golfer’s picks.

Griff Pippin can be seen drawing an analogy between the six players chosen by Zach Johnson and “nerds” in high school. Making fun of the captain, he comments on his dismissal of others and includes such basic picks as when he separately mentions Sam Burns with a chuckle.

Dissing Burns even further, Mark Smalls adds, “I don’t even know what Sam Burns looks like“. Smalls, with a mocking smile on his face, commented about the exclusion of the “guy who went undefeated in last year’s Ryder Cup“. And yes, without any guesswork required, he was talking about the LIV golfer, Dustin Johnson.

Jake Adams, as a matter of fact, states that if Justin Thomas was picked for his past performances, not picking DJ seems biased. He also expresses how the inclusion of Brooks Koepka is just a cover-up for himself in order to not get questioned on his Tour preference, which gets referred to as a “diversity pick” by Smalls.

This draws out a comparison of the 5-time major winner to Will Smith’s casting in a movie. While Black Webber called this a no-brainer, Smalls continued, saying that if he wanted to convey a message, he should have picked two instead of just one.

With the podcasters bashing the captain of the American side for his choices, fans seemed to be in complete disagreement. The spectators came forth to point out their own perspectives and called out the speakers for their make-believe knowledge of the game.

Fans harshly call out the Country Club Adjacent members for their “rough take”

Despite a touch of humor in their podcast roasting, the members of the Country Club Adjacent failed to deliver the same element to their audience.

Reflecting on the same, a couple of users commented, “This team might not be ideal to what we thought it be,but they pair good together so we’ll see…”, and “Also, JT was picked because of his team moral. I bet he’ll crush it“. Following the cue of the user praising JT, some of the online users came forth to show their support for the rest of the US Ryder Cup team.

They said, “Brooks did win a major and a second, two of the four times he teed up against the rest“, and “Sam won the WGC Match Play“. One of the fans couldn’t help but harshly call out the four hosts. He said, “Who the f**k are these clowns?” Meanwhile, another user subtly delivered his criticism when he wrote, “Eeesssh this is a rough take“.

A couple of other golf enthusiasts also followed their judgment regarding the podcast. Delivering their opprobrium, they said, “How do these clowns think they should be commenting on professional golf. Hahah. Amazing where some people get their false confidence from“, and “If Trump had a podcast about golf“.
