Kevin Kisner going topless. Max Homa hyping him up. Xander Schauffele whipping out his cigars. Should we go on? Since the list just seems to keep going on and on. Well, the American team sure did dominate the International squad at the 2024 Presidents Cup. What’s more, they also made sure to celebrate the victory as hard as they could. But keeping aside the celebrations, the PGA Tour Fall season will have to conclude its hiatus with the Sanderson Farms Championship this week. As the FedEx Cup Fall comes back, will the American team come back with it as well?

The upcoming PGA Tour event boasting a $7.6 million prize purse will kick off on October 3, Thursday at the Country Club of Jackson. And as per the official field of the tournament, none of the athletes who were part of the Jim Furyk-led squad, including the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, or Homa will tee off at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

But despite their absence, the Sanderson Farms Championship will be headlined by the likes of many popular PGA Tour Pros including Rickie Fowler, Lucas Glover, and Nick Dunlap, among others. Fowler, meanwhile, will be teeing up in his first tournament after the birth of his daughter Nellie, whom he welcomed with his wife back in August.

The Sanderson Farms Championship will be a crucial one for the 35-year-old who is currently placed at No. 110 on the FedEx Cup Fall standings. The golfer had failed to qualify himself for the FedEx Cup playoffs that kicked off with the St. Jude Championship owing to his place being outside the top 70 on the standings.

Coming back to the American team, they will surely take this time off from the Sanderson Farms Championship to completely enjoy the victory they claimed over the International team. Their win with 18.5 points as opposed to the latter’s 11.5 makes it all the more sweet for the Jim Furyk-led squad. Such a significant margin gives us more than enough reasons as to why the American team celebrated the way they did.

The crazy Presidents Cup celebrations Ft. cigars & shirts

The final day of play saw Kevin Kisner removing his shirt, with Homa hyping up the assistant captain. Truly surprising, isn’t it… But more so if you understand the reason behind the crazy antic? After the Solheim Cup moment that saw Alison Lee’s and Megan Khang’s caddies remove their shirts, the assistant skipper made a promise to Homa. “I’ll do this in Montreal if you hoop one! Book it!” The 6-time PGA Tour champ sure did hole out a 102-yard wedge for an eagle during the singles match against Mackenzie Hughes. And along with the ball, went Kisner’s shirt after the match.

Xander Schauffele, on the other hand, took to “light one up” following his team’s victory over the International squad. Although his ‘John Daly’ like celebration did garner a few negative comments here and there, it wasn’t enough to upset the golfer, who made sure to mark the win with his cigar and smokes. Truly a happy-go-lucky of golfers, wouldn’t you agree?!
