Is Paige Spiranac right to be concerned about the 2024 Creator Classic? What's your take?

The Creator Classic is just around the corner. And 16 athletes are readying themselves to take part in the competition of content creators to find out who amongst them is the best golfer. And among them is Paige Spiranac who seems a bit anxious. Why? Well, she revealed, “Because odds are in and I am the favorite to come at last place.” The odds when coupled with the fact that the social media influencer hasn’t played competitively in over 8 years, give you a nervous 31-year-old set to face off against a talented bunch of golfers.

The event will take place in the back nine of the East Lake Golf Club on August 28. The field, per the PGA Tour announcement, will compete against each other in foursomes with each golfer teeing off in a stroke play format. But the question naturally arises; while Spiranac, who boasts a handicap of +3.4, is favored to come last. Meanwhile, who has the best odds to win the event?

1. Wesley Bryan: The youngest of the Bryan Brothers, the professional golfer has the best odds to win the upcoming tournament set to take place ahead of the TOUR Championship. The athlete, per Bet Carolina, boasts an odds of +225. The pro even has a top-10 finish this season on the PGA Tour with a T2 placement coming off the Corales Puntacana Championship. Although he has missed nine cuts out of the 12 starts he made, the American golfer has the best shot at winning the Classic, per stats.

2. George Bryan: The oldest of the two brothers, George Bryan also boasts a professional career, albeit smaller than that of his sibling’s career. The American content creator, meanwhile, boasts a handicap of +6 and had also signed up for the Q-school back in August 2023. Interestingly, he has played two PGA Tour events in his career and made the cut in just one of them while finishing at the 69th position. Regardless, with an odds of +450, the athlete surely has a high chance of winning the tournament.

3. Roger Steele: His odds? +1500, per Bet Caroline. His percentage of ending up victorious? 6.3%. Well, the golfer sure does brag a 0.7 Handicap Index. Interestingly, the athlete had teed off from the tippy tips at Valhalla this year at a PGA of America corporate outing and went ahead to score 71. He also shot a 79 at the Pinehurst No. 2 ahead of the 2024 U.S. Open from which he played off the tips, with no gimmes. Sure enough, the social media influencer does have what it takes to be a strong contender in the field.

4. Mac Boucher: “I don’t really keep one, I’ll be honest,” said Boucher jokingly when the interviewer asked him about his handicap during one of the athlete’s practice sessions. He also added, “My golf swing is my handicap, actually,” in a hilarious reply as he went back to resume hitting shots on the practice range. But jokes aside, the YouTuber, soon after, revealed a ‘fun fact’. He said, “I’m a scratch handicap righty.” Regardless, he will be hoping to hit better than a par score at the East Lake Golf Club despite sporting an odds of +3000 of winning the event.

5. Peter Finch: Although a professional golfer himself, the British content creator now boasts one of YouTube’s biggest golf channels. In one of his videos back in 2020, the athlete tried to find out his handicap after 15 years if he were an amateur golfer. The result came out to be a +1.9. Couple that with the odds (+3000) and the community gets another contender for the title of champion at the Creator Classic that will tee off at Atlanta.

The par-72, 6886-yard layout is the oldest course in the city of Atlanta and has been the home to the FedEx Cup season-finale, the TOUR Championship, ever since 2005. The layout of the course was designed by the talented Tom Bendelow and was later on established in 1908. However, come 1913, the club hired the late Donald Ross to work on the original design.

As years passed, many including George Cobb and Rees Jones did some work on the course, with the former doing so in 1959 and the latter in 1993. Fast forward to the present and architect Andrew Green, in 2023, managed to restore a lot of the grounds based on the previous designs. And it is this newly restored back nine where the field of 16 social media influencers will tee off! Surely an exciting day awaits the community to find out the best golfing content creator!
