The stage for the return of Tiger Woods is set! The 48-year-old will kick off his 2024 season at the 2024 Genesis Invitational. The event is returning to Riviera Country Club with a $20 million purse up for grabs. Apart from Woods, big names like Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Viktor Hovland, and many more will also tee off at the event.
However, the weather conditions will play a huge role during this event. The last two events on the Tour, AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the WM Phoenix Open, were plagued with unplayable weather conditions. Is the return of Tiger Woods expected to suffer the same fate? Let’s find out.

Riviera Country Club to face a different fate than the last two Tour events?
The Riviera Country Club event will be the third signature event of this season. But unlike the previous two signature events, Genesis will have a 36-hole cut to the low 50 players. The event is scheduled between February 15 and February 18. And for the first round of the PGA Tour event, weather conditions are expected to be optimal.

During the first round, the temperature will vary between 62 degrees and 48 degrees. The winds can be a nuisance, as they can blow at 8+ miles per hour. There will be 77 percent humidity with no chance of rain. Overall, the weather will remain partly sunny for the whole day.
Similar weather conditions will prevail for the second round of the 2024 Genesis Invitational. The weather is going to be mostly cloudy, with the temperature reaching 65 degrees and dropping to 50 degrees. There are no signs of rain, despite the cloudy weather. The winds will blow at 6+ miles per hour, and the humidity will be around 74 percent.
While the first two rounds of the events will have no disturbance due to weather, the same cannot be said about the weekend. The final two rounds of Genesis can fall prey to rain!

The real problem will be the precipitation warnings. While the weather predictions for now show a zero percent chance of rain on Sunday, there is a 90 percent chance of rain the very next day. So golf fans must be prepared for some signs of rain during the final round of the 2024 Genesis Invitational.
