A promise is a promise! Kevin Kisner seems to understand that pretty well. For he had committed to follow in the footsteps of Jack Fulghum and Taylor ‘Shota’ Takada if Max Homa managed to hole out at the Presidents Cup. Well, what do you know… The American golfer went ahead and holed a 102-yard wedge for an eagle on the very first hole of his Singles match against Mackenzie Hughes. And off went Kisner’s shirt!
The video of the same along with the hilarious, albeit exciting, interaction between the veteran and the 33-year-old was shared on PGA Tour’s official Instagram handle. It showed the captain’s assistant going around topless amidst the American team while Homa & Co. hypes him up. The post also showcased a comment made by Kisner while alluding to the antic. “I can’t wait to get back to that team room and run around naked for the rest of the night.” He said.

It all started when the 6-time PGA Tour champ Max Homa responded to the iconic Solheim Cup moment on social media. “Tarps off!!! Let’s go @SolheimCupUSA,” wrote the golfer in response when Kisner replied, “I’ll do this in Montreal if you hoop one! Book it!” Sure, it might have been a push for the athlete to dish out his best in a bid to watch his captain’s assistant in a funny spot. Regardless of the reason, it worked out in the end!

Remember the Solheim Cup? Well, Megan Khang’s caddie, Fulhgum had promised her and Alison Lee $500 if any one of them holes the ball with one less stroke. “I said I don’t want your money,” said Lee who went ahead to dare him. “How about you take your shirt off?” The looper then went ahead to urge her bagman Takada as well, to do the same. And when the 29-year-old holed out, both the loopers were spotted bare-chested. Fast forward to the Presidents Cup, and Khang, meanwhile, made fun of the recent antic as she commented, “Moments passed,” under the post.
Days after he made the promise, Kisner was reminded of the same by a journalist while asking if the deal still stands. The 40-year-old made sure to express how he would be following through as he said, “I hope it’s later in the week because, if I had to take my shirt off today, it would be pretty brutal out there. But yeah, I’m all in for that.” Sure enough, his keeping his promise did impress many as they reacted, “Like it or not but this is what peak male performance looks like,” and “Kis is the effin man!”
Max Homa, on the final day of play, carded a total of six birdies, a bogey, and an eagle, the last of which made the recent topless moment possible. By doing so, he was able to beat Hughes 2&1, all the while conceding the final par-4, 18th hole to the golfer. A fan was pleased with his performance that helped America win the event, as well as made Kisner go bare-chested, as they commented, “So clutch Max!! Way to flush it and drain a bunch of bombs all over the property! Salud!”

Jim Furyk had initially named Keegan Bradley, Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard, and Kevin Kisner as his assistants. However, when the 2025 Ryder Cup captain was selected as a wildcard pick, he turned to Brandt Snedeker to fill the final position. Commenting on this line-up was a golfing enthusiast as they praised the skipper’s choices; “For real though–Furyk picking Kis to keep them loose, and Fluff for his tactical advice? Genius moves.”
That, we all agree on, since it was Jim Furyk’s ‘genius moves’ that helped America clinch the title of champions for the 13th time owing to their figures 18.5-11.5. And this, in turn, allowed everyone to watch the hilarious moment that was Kevin Kisner’s promise. Truly entertaining!
