After his accident in 2021, Tiger Woods has been making some noteworthy changes to improve his game. The last Masters Tournament saw him switch from his iconic Nike shoes to FootJoy. And now, he took it to the next level and changed some of the gear in his bag.

Woods made a comeback to professional golf at the 2022 Masters Tournament last month. Although it had been a while since he had been on a golf course then, Tiger didn’t change anything remarkably for Augusta National.

Tiger used a TaylorMade Stealth Plus+ driver, a 15-degree TaylorMade SIM 3-wood, and a 19-degree TaylorMade M3 5-wood to play. Furthermore, he also had his iconic TaylorMade P-7TW irons, which he has been using since 2017.

However, according to reports now, Woods has changed his two clubs ahead of the 2022 PGA Championship. The first club he switched is the M3 5-wood.

Priced at $199, the M3 5-wood was designed to give the golfer plenty of distance. However, Tiger chose not to add it to his golf bag for the Southern Hills. He switched it for the P770 2 iron.

Woods had been using the TaylorMade P-7TW irons for a couple of years now.

“When you look down at these irons,” Tiger used to say about the P-7TW, “You are looking at the result of every range session, event, victory, and major championship from my 22+ years of professional golf.”

According to the TaylorMade site, each of the P-7TW has been designed to match Tiger’s needs in a 3-iron. Nevertheless, he made a switch from his long-trusted 3-iron to the new P770 3-irons.

The new irons will give the golfer power and distance at the Southern Hills. The 3-iron absorbs excessive vibrations to improve sound and feel. However, it does not inhibit the face from flexing or reduce ball speed.

The 2022 PGA Championship is Tiger’s second tournament since last year’s accident. He made his comeback at the Masters. Although he made the cut at the event, he could only rank at #47 after four rounds.

It is uncertain whether his comparatively bad performance at the Augusta National made him change his clubs or the change of golf course. However, it is certain that Tiger is going to try his maximum to win the 2022 PGA Championship.
