Tiger Woods is back! Is his legacy more about his game or his contributions off the course?

“I don’t think I’ll be in the playoffs,” said a realistic Tiger Woods after missing the cut at the 2024 U.S. Open. He had said the same while pointing out how the major at Royal Troon would be his final event of the season. And he did keep his word, for the golfer wasn’t spotted much after his Open Championship stint. Until now, that is.

A tweet was shared by TGR Live on X showcasing a video uploaded by the TGR Foundation on their social media handle. “Through each of our TGR Live events,” wrote the event management team in celebration of Non-profit Day, “We are proud to support @TGRFound’s mission to empower youth through education.”

The video, meanwhile, showcased a video of the TGR Learning Lab, an initiative of Tiger Woods, that “allows students to chase their passions,… dreams.” The 15-time major champ was also spotted in the video, highlighting the importance of the same. “Our job is to provide the… assets to attain those, and also the support,” divulged the golfer while pointing out how that is something unlike any other foundation.

The TGR Learning Lab was founded in 2006 and has made it its aim to offer the students “unique learning experiences in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).” Moreover, it has been envisioned to provide the same in a “safe and inspiring learning environment” where those in need can make optimum use of the same.

Tiger Woods has, thus, turned his attention to his philanthropic side after a dismal run in 2024. The golfer played in a total of five events in which he missed the cut in three majors, withdrew from the Genesis Invitational, and finished T60 at the Masters Tournament. The athlete will, nevertheless, try to fare better at the remaining events he has planned to play this season.

Where will Tiger Woods play next in 2024?

Have an interesting take?

“I’m not going to play until then,” revealed Tiger Woods at the 2024 Open Championship after missing the cut. He said so in reply to the question of whether he would play before the 2024 Hero World Challenge, set to take place at Albany in the Bahamas. What’s more, the 82-time PGA Tour champ then disclosed his plans to keep getting physically better while divulging the rest of the schedule for the year.

In addition, he optimistically mentioned, “Hopefully just come back for our — what is it, our fifth major, the Father/Son,” while alluding to the 2024 PNC Championship. The PGA Tour Champions event is set to take place at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. And, the golfer, as he has done till now, will probably team up with his son, Charlie Woods, alongside the field of parent-child athletes as they hope to clinch their first title together. Unsurprisingly enough, many fans will surely agree with Tiger Woods’s words when he said, “Looking forward to it.” They might even be sporting the same feelings!
