The PGA Tour will witness a clash of events this week. While Bay Hill GC will host many big names at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida, on the other side of the map, pros will tee up at the Grand Reserve Golf Club for the Puerto Rico Open.

Even though the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy will be playing at the fourth signature event of the season, many fan favorites who didn’t make it to Florida will instead be playing on the 132-player field on the Island of Enchantment. These include golf’s ever-famous Harry Higgs and even the PGA Tour’s rising star, Rasmus Højgaard.

On the field this week is also the defending champion of the event, Nicolas Echavarria. After beating Akshay Bhatia by 2 strokes for his maiden win on the Tour last year, the Columbian pro will be returning to try and retain his title and double down on his wins this week. For Thursday and Friday, he’s paired up with Daniel Berger and Aaron Wise. The trio will tee off on hole one at 6:23 AM ET for the first two rounds.

Another player to watch this week will be Harry Higgs. The American pro is paired up with one of the most decorated pros on the field this week, six-time PGA Tour winner Bill Haas, and with 2014 Zurich classic champion S.Y. Noh. The three will be the first to tee off on Thursday and Friday, starting their rounds at 5:50 a.m. ET.

Surprisingly, ahead of the event, two prominent names have recently confirmed their withdrawal from the field. One-time major winner Jimmy Walker and Australian star Greg Chalmers withdrew from the event earlier today. Interestingly, no reason was revealed for their untimely exit. Despite their pullout, the field size of the 2024 Puerto Rico Open will not change. Derek Ernst and Derek Lamel will take their places, starting off the tees at 10:46 a.m. and 11:19 a.m. ET, respectively.
