The golf world will be expecting an exciting display of golf this week at the Cognizant Classic, previously known as the Honda Classic. Well, the ninth event on the 2024 PGA Tour calendar would kick off on the 29th of February and would continue to excite the community till March 3rd. Meanwhile, a total of 144 golfers would tee it off at the PGA National Resort in South Florida all the while aiming for a chance at the trophy and the title.
But that’s not all. Aside from the fame and glory, the winner’s cut from the $9 million prize purse would also push the athletes to try their best to win the same. In any case, with such an exciting event in place, it is only natural for the community to wonder when the professionals will be teeing it off!

Many top golfers would be hoping to clinch the trophy from the hands of the defending champion, Chris Kirk, as he gets ready to face the powerful field. What’s more, he would be teeing it off on Thursday and Friday against the likes of Rory McIlroy, the winner of the event back in 2012, and Jake Knapp, the victor from the recently ended Mexico Open.
Meanwhile, the Northern Irishman’s friend, Shane Lowry, would see himself battling it out with the likes of Camilo Villegas and Matthieu Pavon on both days. In the meantime, the golf world can witness Tom Kim teeing it off together with professionals Matt Fitzpatrick, and Justin Rose.
In addition to the same, Lucas Glover has been grouped with Adam Svensson and Gary Woodland while Nick Dunlap, the 2024 American Express champ, would duke it out with Akshay Bhatia and Cameron Young. Well, with the number of talented golfers in tow for the event, it appears we have exciting days ahead of us.
Commitments to the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches (February 29-March 3) include 2012 champion Rory McIlroy (first start at the event since 2018) and Ryan Palmer, who is making his 500th career start on the PGA TOUR.
