Nike fans can rest easy now. It appears that the iconic Swoosh is not fading away from the world of golf just yet. The brand had come face-to-face with speculations of an exit from the sport following their split with Tiger Woods, among other big names. However, certain rumors are meant to be quelled, and the clothing company has done the same.

Despite the rumors being the talk of the town, in a surprising piece of news, the athletic apparel brand has gone ahead and signed another deal with a golfer in the game. Besides, they have done so all the while holding up their assurances of not getting out of golf!

A tweet was shared on X divulging how the Swoosh has now entered into a partnership with Guido Migliozzi. The DP World Tour pro was spotted at the Dubai Invitational a while back, wearing the brand’s clothes and footwear apparel, following which the pro and Mark McDonnell, the co-founder of Modest Golf Management, representing the golfer, made an announcement.

Taking to the internet, the Italian athlete mentioned how “Incredibly proud and excited” he was to “announce” his signing with the apparel brand. Adding on, he expressed his excitement with the whole deal since he was able to do the same with “a brand I(sic) have been passionate about as a kid.”

The deal comes as nothing short of a showstopper to the rumors surrounding their exit from golf following the end of the 27-year-long partnership with Woods, 8 years after they shut down their golf equipment division. Moreover, Rex Hoggard, not too long ago, speculated how it was Nike that initiated the end of the deal, all the while putting forward how they would supposedly leave the sport.

But, while all was said and done, they were just rumors! Nevertheless, the company did find itself in a bit of a pickle when it saw many athletes sign with other brands.

The rise of rumors surrounding Nike’s exit

Jason Day and Matthew Wolff saw themselves entering into partnerships with Malbon Golf and FootJoy, respectively, a while back. The former had done so while ditching a $100 million partnership with the apparel company after seven long years. This, coupled with the Woods exit, painted a concerning picture for the brand and its presence in the sport.

However, as per a report in the Sports Business Journal, the Swoosh had reportedly “assured other players still under contract that the manufacturer is not getting out of the sport,” leading many to breathe a sigh of relief amongst themselves. Besides, with top athletes including the likes of Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Tommy Fleetwood, and Nelly Korda still donning the iconic Swoosh on their golfing apparel, it seems the brand is still very much alive in the game. Well, surely, all these factors do point to them still going strong!
