‘The Reverse Tiger’: Golf World Reacts to Viktor Hovland’s Thursday Outfit at the 2022 Masters

The Masters Tournament is considered the biggest attraction of the golf world. However, this time, the young golfer Viktor Hovland is already on to steal that title with his much more attractive apparel. 

The 24-year-old Hovland styled himself with pink-colored pants and a dark black T-shirt on the first round of the Masters.

In the first round at the Masters, Hovland was wearing their Tour Logo Stuart Stripe Micro High Stretch Trousers Hot Pink. Furthermore, he had paired it with a Tour Logo Guy Regular Fit TX Jersey Black T-shirt.

The Norwegian golfer is an ambassador of the brand. Apart from him, many other young golfers, including the LPGA Tour star Nelly Korda, are part of the activewear brand. 

Fans’ reaction to Viktor Hovland wearing hot pink pants at the Augusta National

The J. Lindeberg brand is popular for designing trendy and colorful golf apparel. However, it is the first time the golf world has witnessed it at the Augusta National. Therefore, the fans couldn’t help but express what they thought of that.

Meanwhile, many couldn’t help but notice that Hovland’s apparel matched with Tiger Woods. Woods had sported a pink T-shirt with black pants on Thursday.

Most private golf courses have dress codes. So, it was surprising for the fans to see the Augusta National allowing Hovland to wear his choice of clothes.

Although fans love Hovland for his game, many didn’t find his fashion interesting.

Many fans thought that he had no dressing sense after watching him sport the hot pink pants with the black t-shirt. However, there were a lot who appreciated him wearing that. They thought that it was time for golf and the players to make some changes.

The 2022 Masters

There was a bit of delay at the beginning of the tournament due to weather conditions. However, all the players showed great golfing skills and finished round 1 on Thursday itself. 

After 18-holes, Sungjae Im tops the leaderboard with an impressive 5-under 67. Furthermore, the Sentry Tournament and Players Championship champion Cameron Smith is in the second position with one shot behind. 

The world no. 1 Scottie Scheffler finished round 1 with a tie at the third position. Meanwhile, no. 2 Jon Rahm could only secure a tie at 43. Moreover, Tiger Woods had an impressive day at the Masters on Thursday. He scored a 1-under par and finished round 1 at T10, along with 8 other golfers.
