It’s the 12th event on the 2024 PGA Tour calendar. Yes, we are talking about THE PLAYERS Championship and the community seems to be awaiting an exciting display of golf this weekend. Moreover, the tournament will kick off on March 14 and see its fourth round being played on Sunday, March 17. Interestingly, a total of 144 golfers will be teeing it off at the tournament to be held at TPC Sawgrass.

Meanwhile, the athletes have set their eyes on a chance at fame and glory, along with the winner’s cut from the $25 million prize pool. Anyway, the players will go forward keeping these stakes in mind as they tee it off on Thursday and Friday, all the while hoping to make the cut!

A lot of top athletes, including the likes of the current world No. 1 and defending champion Scottie Scheffler will undoubtedly be hoping to claim, or reclaim in this case, the glory for themselves. He will be teeing it off alongside fellow PGA Tour pros Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas, the former of whom won the event back in 2015 while the latter emerged victorious in 2021.

Meanwhile, the champ of the 2024 Cognizant Classic, Austin Eckroat, will be battling it out with the likes of Sahith Theegala, and Akshay Bhatia on both Thursday and Friday in a bid to make the cut. In the meantime, the community will be able to witness Ludvig Aberg teeing it off together with Patrick Cantlay and Adam Scott.

In addition to the above field, 34-year-old Rory McIlroy has been grouped with Viktor Hovland and Jordan Spieth while Wyndham Clark will tee it off alongside Collin Morikawa, and Brian Harman on the first two days. With such a talented field set to kick it off, it appears the golf world is in for an exciting weekend.

Nevertheless, only one will be able to come out on top at the end. Even so, as the field of 144 athletes gears up for the third event on the Florida Swing, one cannot help but wonder when they will start their gameplay.

Tee times for THE PLAYERS Championship

The first round of the Cognizant Classic will kick off on Thursday, March 14th, followed by the second on Friday, March 15th. Let us take a quick look at the tee timings for the two days.
