The World No.1 is finally back! The 2023 Hero World Challenge is set to rock each and every golfing fan out of their seats. And with it, comes an exceptional lineup that the tournament is boasting, including the likes of Scottie Scheffler who is finally making a comeback into the sport after a small break.
However, even as the top golfer makes a return to the game, his attention is on an entirely different thing, or in this case, a person. The American Ryder Cup star, much to the surprise of many, decided to come out with a confession involving none other than the legend of the game, Tiger Woods!

The Hero World Challenge is just around the corner and it would see not just one, but two comebacks. Scheffler would appear on the greens with Woods, who is coming out of a 7-month hiatus. However, despite the long break from the game, the latter received a ton of praise from the current No. 1 ahead of the tournament.
The 6X PGA Tour champ went ahead to express his admiration for the golfer as he mentioned how he loves “looking down the range” to watch him play. Moreover, “seeing him hit balls and hearing that sound” is something that the 1X major winner can’t help but admire.
However, he didn’t stop there with the praises. What’s more, the 27-year-old divulged how Mr. T is “different than the rest of us” all the while indicating his gameplay on the course. Well, we agree with you, Mr. Scheffler. With the number of accolades the Hall of Famer has garnered, the 15X Major winner is deserving of such praise.

Even though the 82X PGA Tour champ is currently on the lowest-ever OWGR ranking of his career, the pro had earlier towered above everyone else at the top spot for a total of 683 weeks. However, the 2022 Masters Tournament winner has only claimed the same for over 50 weeks. Even so, curiosity arises, will he be able to hold on to the same?

After the Ryder Cup, the 27-year-old had been absent from the greens for some time. Nevertheless, he has managed to cement his position at No.1 owing to the six wins on the circuit coming off in 2022 and 2023. During the Hero World Challenge, even if others in the field clinch the victory, it would not bring a change to the top-six spots on the world rankings, including that of Rory McIlroy (No.2) and Jon Rahm (No.3), who aren’t even playing.

However, that is not the case for the other professionals set to play the greens this week. The topmost that a golfer can reach would be the seventh spot for Matt Fitzpatrick or Brian Harman if they manage to win the same. Woods would be able to jump in between No. 160-170 if he emerge victorious. However, even if he loses, the 1997 Masters Tournament champ can sneak into the top 1000.
