He was immensely focused on his game at the Augusta National. Yes, we are talking about 2024 Masters champ Scottie Scheffler who was not seen giving much attention to the patrons throughout his gameplay at the major championship. However, at the next PGA Tour event at Harbour Town Golf Links, the golfer couldn’t help but come out candid regarding the support he got from his fans.
Scheffler was spotted confessing to the same in an interview post-the-third round at RBC Heritage. Meanwhile, as he did so, the current No. 1 in the world went ahead to dub, receiving the fans’s support as nothing short of “great” all the while recounting his experience on the greens at the South Carolina course.

“I’ve always enjoyed playing in front of a crowd,” confessed the 27-year-old before adding how he has always managed to feel the vigor and life of the fans who cheer for him on the course. Elaborating on this, the athlete admitted, “It may not look like I’m paying much attention to them out there, but I can feel their energy, and it’s great to have the support.”
Interestingly, the pro also mentioned how he felt a change in how the fans cheered for him as he recounted his experience at the first tee. Recalling his memory, Scheffler said, “I think today, I felt like it was really interesting, on No. 1 the grandstand behind was packed when I was on the tee box, and then by the time we got to the green, I turned around and it was almost empty.”
That’s not all. Adding on, the 2-time Masters champ divulged how pleasant the whole affair was on Saturday at Harbour Town Golf Links. “It felt to me like the crowd was coming with me today,” mentioned Scheffler before continuing, “There was definitely a lot of cheers out there, and it’s nice to have their support.” Well, it does make sense seeing as how the fans would certainly prefer watching someone who came out triumphant at the recent major championship, especially if he was the No. 1 on the OWGR.
Even so, one can’t possibly complain about him not giving much attention to the fans at what could possibly be one of his career’s most important moments. But, then again, the American pro has always been called ‘boring’ and unemotional on and off the course.

Scheffler’s ‘boring’ persona on the greens
After his 2023 PLAYERS Championship win, famous NHL legend Ryan Whitney, had gone ahead to dub him as a dull person. “He is so boring,” said Whitney before adding, “Does nothing for me. If he runs away with the masters again and ruins Sunday I’ll snap.” Well, he did run away with the Masters again, not in 2023 but a year later.

Regardless, he is rarely spotted responding emotionally on the greens, especially during an event. What’s more, being cool and rational has helped him make all the difference by raking in 9 wins on the PGA Tour, including two major championships. Besides, with an overall figure of 16-under after the three days and currently leading the scorecard, it seems Scottie Scheffler is well set on clinching another victory!
