Regardless of common belief, a recent Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm interaction proves golf to be a ‘contact sport’
Golf, generally, is not a contact sport like ice hockey, American football, and others. In fact, more often than not, fans and other professionals refer to it as a gentleman’s game. Where the golf community hardly gets to witness any contact between players on the greens, Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm faced this situation in the most awkward way possible.
Through an hours-old Instagram post on the PGA Tour’s official account, the golf world caught a glimpse of this unlikely moment in the arena of the sport. In a video with the title ‘Contact Sport’, Scheffler and Rahm can be seen clashing with each other.
Though the players luckily didn’t get hurt in any way, the moment still grabbed the attention of the golf world instantly. Be it the hug Scheffler shared with the Spanish golfer after avoiding an almost-accident or the awkward smile that adorned his face afterward, this incident seemed to have brought out a laugh from everyone around.

Even the PGA Tour account could not hold back from captioning the post with a funny question, reading, “Why can’t we be friends?” This certainly gives everyone around a glimpse into the relationship shared between the two Professional golfers. Despite the on-field rivalry, the two sure seem to share a mutual respect for each other off-field.
Besides the official account’s reaction to the incident, even the spectators could not contain their laughter over the scene for a very long time. Their responses quickly flooded the comments section of the post.
Amidst witnessing the close competition, the golf world hysterically responds to the comical collision
While the on-course scene was projected on a lighter note, the off-course witnesses also acknowledged the same. However, more than their exchange on the greens at the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship, their next month’s encounter seemed to be the hot topic among the golf audience.
