Max Homa has been undergoing quite a slump recently. His last victory came in January 2023 at the Farmers Insurance Open. Probably that is the reason why the 6X PGA Tour champion has decided to stir things up ahead of the 2025 season. For good luck maybe?

The upcoming season of the Tour is set to begin on January 2, 2025, with the Sentry. Max Homa will be a part of the field at the Plantation Course at Kapalua in Hawaii. As it turns out, the 34-year-old has already reached Hawaii for the practice round session. While there have been no official announcements regarding the same, Homa was spotted with different gear and apparel.

The American professional golfer has been the brand ambassador of Titleist, using their clubs, balls, and bags. He also won his first international victory at the Nedbank with the kit. And as for his footwear, he has been wearing FootJoy. While the exact numbers for the sponsorship agreements have never been revealed, they were a huge chunk of his earnings. But as it turns out, there might be a potential split with both brands.

NUCLR Golf reported that Max Homa arrived at a golf clinic in Hawaii without Titleist logos. It was also reported that Homa was rocking Puma golf shoes and blank apparel. Apparently, an anonymous report from several weeks ago states he was spotted with a Cobra staff bag. Is this a sign that he’s moving to Cobra/Puma in 2025?

While there has been no confirmation about the changes so far, the other changes have already been announced. PGA Tour star Max Homa announced a split from his swing coach this year.

In pursuit of a fresh start, Max Homa parted ways with Mark Blackburn, his long-time coach. Homa shared his thoughts: “It’s just a tough year [and it is] time for a change. It’s unfortunate. I love Mark; he’s a part of my family. He’s just been an amazing human being.” He had, however, not taken up any new coach. He went ahead with the guidance of his caddie, Joe Greiner.

Homa and Greiner have known each other for as long as they’ve both been playing golf. According to reports, they first met at Vista Valencia Golf Club when they were just six years old. Golf Monthly revealed that Greiner holds the course record for the lowest score at Vista Valencia. Throughout Homa’s career, Greiner has been by his side, with the pair winning all six of Homa’s titles together.

However, as it turns out, for the opening of the 2025 season, Homa will not be appearing in the field of the Sentry with Greiner. Jordan Spieth’s trusted bagman, Michael Greller, will carry Homa’s bag. This arrangement is probably temporary since Jordan Spieth is yet to recover from his wrist surgery and is not a part of the field this week. Greiner is reported to return to Homa’s bag sometime during the West Coast Swing.
